Meet the SQNRM Board at first General Meeting

Members of Southern Queensland Natural Resource Management (NRM) and the general public are invited to attend the first General Meeting of the new NRM organisation on 31 October in Roma.

Chair of Southern Queensland NRM, Mark O’Brien, said it would be a great opportunity for members to meet the organisation’s new Directors, who will be formally appointed at the General Meeting.

“It’s an exciting time for our region, and a great opportunity to tackle the challenges we face in the NRM sector head-on - with a new Board of Directors and a united regional approach” Mr O’Briensaid.

The Board of Directors will be skills-based, with two current directors continuing and four new Directors to be appointed. An independent Chair will also be appointed.

Company Directors are responsible to the membership for overall governance including oversight of the strategic delivery of community-based natural resource management across the Southern Queensland NRM region.

“We invite anyone with an interest in our region’s natural resources to come along to meet the Board and our new CEO Paul McDonald.

“Southern Queensland NRM is focussed on community-led natural resource management, so come along and share your thoughts on our region’s NRM future” Mr O’Brien said.

The General Meeting will be held at Ernest Brock Room at the Maranoa Regional Council Chambers, Bungil Street in Roma, Queensland 4pm.

RSVP is essential – please email by 26 October 2018.
