Two workshops:

Friday May 2 from 4.30pm – 6.30pm followed by light refreshments

South West NRM presents: 

The Ngoolyark (Carnaby’s black-cockatoo) and Gnow (malleefowl) in the Neighbourhood project

Robyn Nicholas – Program Manager Environment,  SWNRM will provide an overview of the project.

Dr Tegan Douglas – Manager Black-Cockatoos, Birdlife Australia.  Presenting on the the biology of the black cockatoos particularly the Carnaby; what actions are being undertaken to protect the species and what we can all do to help.

Dr Elizabeth (Liz) Kington – WA Coordinator, National Malleefowl Recovery Group. Presenting on the the biology of the malleefowl; what actions are being undertaken to protect the species and what we can all do to help. 

Annabel Paulley – Project Officer, Katanning Landcare Project Officer will provide an overview on work by Katanning Landcare.

Seeking Katanning landowners!

SWNRM has funding to undertake fencing and revegetation to improve habitats for Carnaby’s black-cockatoos and malleefowl. We are seeking landowners interested in participating.

Bank Australia Citizen Science Workshop

Have you seen Carnaby’s black-cockatoos in the Katanning area?

Katanning Landcare is keen to hear about your important sightings.

You’re invited to attend a free Citizen Science workshop to show you how to report your sightings and upload photos as evidence.

The data will be used by Birdlife Australia and the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions to build a better picture of Carnaby’s numbers in the Central Great Southern.

Both workshops are being held at the Katanning Lakeside Eco Centre, Charles Street and light refreshments will be provided.

Attendance is FREE however registration is appreciated for catering purposes.
