Can we make perennial pastures work in our South West of WA?
Most farmers love the idea but know how challenging it can be to establish perennials where there is a competitive annual species seedbank.
This is one in a series of events at several locations featuring a Q&A with an experienced farmer and agronomist.
The aim is to equip farmers with an understanding on what’s needed to give perennials the best chance of survival.
We’ll discuss weed management, grazing management and the current species on the market.
And we’ll take a walk through paddocks supporting perennials and hear what lessons were learned.
Our Manjimup event is being run in partnership with Southern Forests Community Landcare.

Jake Ryan
Jake has been using perennials behind vegetables since 2019 and has adapted from a high number of species to concentrate on pastures such as Bealy Ryegrass, Phalaris and cocksfoot, with clovers coming back from the seedbank. Read more HERE.
