The western ringtail possum has lost 90% of its original habitat. Now critically-endangered and increasingly forced to find food and shelter in urban areas, homeowners often have them visit their gardens, sheds and even rooves.
While adorable, we know possums don’t always make the most well-behaved house guests.
So why not give them a home of their own! Then you can enjoy nature up close while knowing you are undertaking important conservation action that will benefit the species.
Thanks to a donation from our friends Stella Bella Wines, we have 20 beautifully made (by Leschenault Community Nursery) possum dreys (artificial nests) to give away to members of the environmentally-aware community of people who subscribe to our monthly E-Newsletter.
Not a subscriber? No problem. The link to sign-up is HERE.
If you’re installing a drey, place them in a tree about 3-4m above the ground and facing away from prevailing winds and afternoon sun. Secure with sturdy wire or chain.
